The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Sony Xperia C4 is expected to roll out in October.
Sony Xperia C3 devices are already running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, according to Xperia Blog. It is reported that Sony will release this upgrade for Xperia C4 as well.
The upgrade will be rolled out through the method of over the air. In this method, different handsets will get the update at a different and random time. The update is likely to be release for Xperia C4 after the debut of Android Marshmallow takes place on Oct. 5.
Sony Xperia C4 is currently running on Android Lollipop 5.0. The upgrade will also come for Sony Xperia Z2 and Z3 after it comes to C4. Android Lollipop 5.1.1 comes with the integration of the LinkedIn app to the Calendar and Contacts apps, according to BGR.
It will also enable direct access of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth through the menu, Xperia themes will increase in number, many bug fixes and several other improvements will also be there.
The upgrade will also bring the following changes in the devices:
- The camera focus, speed and the accuracy will get improvements in the Superior Auto mode
- There will be new menu icons
- Sony Smart Watch 3 support will be integrated
- Many Business features will be integrated
- Calendar agenda in Email will be integrated
- Instant calendar events will be integrated
When the update is prompted, the users can click on the "Install now" option and then follow instructions. To manually check for updates, the users can go to Settings>About phone>System update>Check for updates.
Before installing the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 firm ware upgrade, the users must charge their devices to at least 50 percent and also make sure that the device is equipped with enough free memory.
