There are reports that Samsung's current flagship devices like Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge Plus, S6 Edge, and S6 are all lined up to get the Android Marshmallow update by 2015-end.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge Plus, S6 Edge, and S6 are currently running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. These devices will perform in a more seamless manner when they are upgraded with Android Marshmallow.

Android Marshmallow is slated to release on Sept. 29, along with Google Nexus 5X.

The South Korean tech giant is already processing its plans to release this firmware upgrade for these devices, according to Sam Mobile. After this upgrade, the firm ware version will become G925FXXU3COI6 from G925FXXU2COH2. All the mentioned devices were released in this year itself.

The official date of release for this firm ware for this device is yet to be announced. The upgrade is expected to be at least 500 MB in size. It is expected to be a major update, bringing along many changes with it to the Android devices.

Android Marshmallow is speculated to be full of new features and improvements for the Android devices. It will bring the feature of automatic backup to the devices, along with the support for finger print scanner according to BGR.

It is also said to get the support for the 4G LTE connectivity and the support for Bluetooth 4.2.  The feature of emergency calls will be more enhanced after this upgrade. It will be GPS enabled and pop up on the screen as soon as the device suspects some sort of emergency.

The home screen will also become rotatable post this update. The new API level 23 will be introduced in the devices. The Android Marshmallow upgrade will get the support for the Android Pay and the USB Type-C connection as well.
