Samsung is in the process of rolling out the current version of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop to Galaxy S5 Mini.
US carrier US Cellular is the first one to get this upgrade amongst the S5 Mini users. The other carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint can expect the release soon. The model number which is currently in the line to get this upgrade is SM-G800R4, according to SamMobile.
The update will be bringing all the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop security fixes and improvements. The system will gain more stability post upgrade. There are no new applications added after this upgrade. Stage Fright bug will be fixed for once and for all with this upgrade.
Android Lollipop 5.1.1 will bring many more changes to the device. This upgrade will come packed with the bug fixes and also improve the material design of the phone, according to BGR. It will bring the support for Android Play as well as the support for the USB Type-C connection port.
It will also bring the support for the fingerprint sensor. It will bring the sync feature to the device, along with the switch feature as well. The icon size in the home launcher settings is to become bigger than the current version. The volume rockers will now get their control in the home screen itself, without any need to go to the device settings. Setting menu will flaunt new items as well.
To check for the update, the users can follow the steps: Settings > About phone > System update > Check for updates.
The phone must be charged to at least a 50 percent and also be connected to a stable Wi-Fi connection for faster installation.
