Sony PlayStation 5 Likely to Happen, Thanks to Game Developers

Sony PlayStation 5 may ditch disc drives, and works with steaming services.

In a recent Sony Worldwide Studios event, subject of what to expect and the release date of Playstation 5 were raised.

President Shushei Yoshida of the group of video game developers owned by Sony stated it is up to the decision of game creators if there is a need to create PS5, a need to have more machine power, according to to WCFF Tech. In PS4, he said that there are things that they cannot execute with the latest gaming console, and it might be a good reason in creating another one, with a good vision from the creators.

However, he also added that PS5 will not happen anytime soon. It will take years before it will materialize. Right now, current gaming consoles have enough power to sustain games and offer impressive gameplay.

Recently, there have been reports online stating that there will be an upcoming PS5, describing it as the cheapest gaming console of them all. It added that Sony has bigger plans of executing new technological advancements for PS5, International Business Times reported.

Report pointed out that PS5 might get rid of disc drives. It is possible that the company will work on a console that involves streaming services, as the growth of downloadable games are on the rise according to ‘PlayStation’ Magazine Editor Ben Wilson. After all, disc drives are slowly getting more obsolete and becoming less and less necessary, but it will not be phased out anytime soon.

Meanwhile, players can wait for the launching of new PS4 models very soon. There is also a revamped CUH-1200 that will improve the console's sound and enhance the power saving mode and heat generation.
