Huawei Honor 6 Gets Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS Update Enhanced With EMUI 3.1 Launcher

Huawei Honor 6 is all set to get the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS update.

It will also get the new EMUI 3.1 launcher along with the update, according to GSM Arena. India is first country to get the firmware update for this device. This will be sent via OTA. Huawei 4X and Huawei Honor 4C are already running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Huawei recently updated the ROM on its official website. The users can easily download it from there. The file is large requiring at least 3 GB of free space on the device. Only a few users got this update via the OTA till now due to its huge size.

Hence, manual installation is advised. No change log is reported for this update, but it will bring a lot of optimized features to the device.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop upgrade will fix the issue of Stage fright entirely. Other changes include the integration of LinkedIn app with Contacts and the Calendar app, according to BGR. Improvements in the accuracy in superior auto mode will be provided.

There will be new Settings menu icons post the upgrade. The options for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi will be available in the notifications menu, instead of accessing them through the settings option.

To install the update, the users need to click on the "Install now" option, when promted to do so on the screen. After that, simply follow the instructions which appear on the screen. In order to manually check for updates, the users can go to Settings > About phone > System update > Check for updates.

The device must be charged to at least a 50 percent before installing the update, and also connected to a stable Wi-Fi connection.
