‘Deus Ex: Mankind Divided’ News: Find Out What Resulted Into Cancellation Of Augment Your Pre-Order Program

Executive Narrative Director at Eidos Montreal, Mary DeMarle introduces 'Deus Ex Mankind Divided' during the Square Enix press conference at the JW Marriott in Los Angeles, California.

Square Enix has cancelled its Augment Your Pre-Order Program for "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" following many negative feedbacks from gamers.

In a blog post on their official website, the company said, "When it was first conceived, we wanted the program to give you more choice about what you received in terms of pre-order incentives... We quickly noticed that this approach created even more frustration than before, resulting in a resounding amount of negative feedback."

In the pre-order program, players have the liberty of choosing the motivations they would like to have.

Under the system, levels of rewards will be unlocked as the company gets more pre-orders, according to Bleeding Cool.

According to the incentive outlined by the program, the game is released four days earlier in the event the target number of preorders was attained.

Gamers were reportedly disappointed by what they saw as a way of just securing more pre-orders for the game, and they did not shy off from expressing their disillusionment. For this reason, as opposed to the pre order program, Square Enix has created a new scheme whereby gamers who pre-order the game or purchase a Day One version gets access to the incentive content listed.

From the initial feedback on the game's preview that was revealed at the E3 2015, players believed that it was expected to be a better game than its precursors. In fact, the new game was lauded for "re-tuned combat, a tighter story, more choices to make."

The game will seemingly happen in 2029 after a Human Revolution, and it will still focus on the main character Adam Jensen, GameSpot reported.

"Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" will be released on Feb. 23, 2016 for PS4, Xbox One, and the PC.
