It is now official that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow official OTA update after T-Mobile unveiled a list of the lucky recipients. This is the most intriguing update in history and will see devices receiving a variety of new features and improvements.

The Galaxy Note 4 was unveiled on a track list of T-Mobile put on its support page for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software update. While other mobile carriers have remained silent concerning the rollout, the latest list confirms that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will indeed come to them very soon.

The move by T-Mobile to announce officially about the rollout will trigger other networks like Verizon, Sprint, US Cellular, AT&T, Vodafone, and Bell to follow suit.

From T-Mobile's track list, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is still under "Manufacturer Development" phase in which case the carrier and the mobile maker have reached an agreement to support the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software update. The second stage will focus on testing whereby the device will undergo the carrier's certification procedure to ensure users receive the best quality software.

The third stage for the Galaxy Note 4 will be the "Complete" phase wherein the software is approved to launch and is accessible to users already.

Even though there is no official release date for the software, Marshmallow is scheduled to roll out to the device by December this year.

According to the official T-Mobile website, Android 6.0 Marshmallow will provide major features and updates that will allow users to:

  1. Exercise improved control over application permissions.
  2. Buy easily and securely through Fingerprint support and Android Pay.
  3. Have improved battery life through Doze.
  4. Restructured App Drawer.
