Pepsi P1 will be the first smartphone of the soft drink company.

Pepsi is about to launch its own smartphone lineup, and the specifications of the handset leaked online.

The popular cola manufacturer is apparently working Pepsi P1, and gearing up to launch it in China. It is rumored that the handset will have its official launch in Beijing on Oct. 20. It is most likely that Pepsi has teamed up with a Chinese OEM to create this smartphone and that it has merely licensed its brand name for the device, according to Ubergizmo.

Pepsi does not have a history of making smartphones and neither is it believed to have facilities that can make such devices. It may be possible the soft drink maker struck a deal to have a manufacturer release a handset with the Pepsi logo and endorsement

The device is rumored to have a 5.5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 screen resolution, making it more than a smartphone and can be seen as phablet. The handset will be powered by MediaTek MT6592 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz and ARM Mali-450 MP4 GPU.

It will feature a 2GB of RAM paired with 16GB of internal storage, but there is still no detail for possible microSD card integration to expand the memory of the device. P1 will run under Android 5.1. A 13MP camera can be found at back, with a 5MP snapper on front. The 3000mAh battery keeps the device from dying easily.

The device is expected to be a mid-range handset for starter like Pepsi. Pepsi P1 is rumored to be priced at the equivalent of $205, Android Headlines reported.
