"Pitch Perfect 2" star Anna Kendrick recently joined some of Hollywood's high-profile women at Variety's Power of Women luncheon in Beverly Hills as honoree for her philanthropic work.

The singer-actress delivered a rousing speech that highlighted the beauty of diversity. She quoted a New York Times article about pop artists, and the fact that their market in the contemporary era includes young people "identifying and exploring formerly unknown, or at least unlabeled, frontiers of sexuality and gender."

The Teen Choice Comedy Movie Actress awardee expressed that "diversity is beautiful," fun and exciting.  She added that it conveys hope that the current generation is on to something.

Kendrick immersed herself in the world of theatre at an early age, before crossing over to television and film. Like most artists, she considers herself lucky to have lots of gay male and female friends, Variety reported.

Meanwhile, Gwyneth Paltrow, Salma Hayek, and Oprah Winfrey also delivered good speeches that touched audiences' hearts, E! News reported. Winfrey got a standing ovation for her emotionally-charged speech.

The social media-savvy Kendrick was articulate and real, endearing herself more to her legions of fans as well as organizations advocating change.

Kenrick received congratulatory messages from her followers on Instagram. One of them wrote that she was incredible, while others said the speech made them happy and they were proud of the actress.

Kendrick was cited for her work with the Trevor Project, an organization that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ teens.

The actress with impressive vocal range and a youthful vibe expressed hope that the Power of Women event and platform can translate to greater support for youngsters in need of it.
