"Trasporter: The Series" star Chris Vance has joined the cast ensemble of the CBS television series "Supergirl."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vance had been tapped to play the role of DC Comics villain known as Non in the series. Regarded as a former scientist in a league with the House of El, Non is also a cruel Kyptonian military officer who is evil, forceful, and short-tempered.

In their interview with The Hollywood Reporter in August, "Supergirl" producers Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Ali Adler said that they would have a different incarnation on the character in the forthcoming series. The character is assumed to be the greatest threat to Supergirl, as he is the direct opposite of all things the latter stands for.

Non is also known as one of the three major villain in Richard Lester's 1980 film "Superman II," which starred Christopher Reeve. In the film, the character had a silent but strong Kryptonian in alliance with General Zod.

While the new Non version is set to be "sinister, powerful, and angry," the scientist side of the character might have been inspired by Geoff John's "Action Comics" and Richard Donner's original "Superman," according to Comic Book Resources. Aside from Non, "Supergirl" will also feature villains like Hellgrammite, Reactron, and Red Tornado.

Aside from the action crime series "Trasporter: The Series," Vance is also known for his roles in the drama series "All Saints," action crime series "Prison Break," drama series "Mental," Edward Allen Bernero's action crime drama series "Crossing Lines," and Janet Tamaro's mystery crime drama series "Rizzoli & Isles," among others.

Meanwhile, "Supergirl" stars Vance as Non, Justice Leak as Hellgrammite, Chris Browning as Reactron, Iddo Goldberg as Red Tornado, Jenna Dewan-Tatum as Lucy Lane, Glenn Morshower as Gen. Sam Lane, Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, Brit Morgan as Livewire, and Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El/ Kara Danvers/ Supergirl, among others.

"Supergirl" Season 1 pilot episode is slated to premiere in CBS on Oct. 26.
