Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" could link to Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's forthcoming Marvel Comics film "Captain America: Civil War."
In his interview with Entertainment Weekly at the New York Comic Con, Clarg Gregg, who plays Agent Phil Coulson in the series "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D," said "Civil War" had always been about the registration of superheroes and people with unique abilities. He added that what they had been doing in the series would eventually connect with the events in the Russos' upcoming film.
Gregg also explained that he and the production team were able to dig dipper a broader spectrum from a tidbit of event in the Marvel storyline, which he liked. For instance, the series may explore some points on The Winter Soldier, seeing that the people he had worked for were part of an evil group that was trying to kill him. For Gregg, this angle alone could be shown the series for hours more.
In the television series, Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." was able to show the extensive consequences of the incidents in the Russos' "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." With "Captain America: Civil War" centering on the powers of superpowered individuals, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." seems to be on the same line because it develops its storyline around the Inhumans, people who have extraordinary abilities, as per Cinema Blend.
The Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" is set to premiere on May 6, 2016 while Garry A. Brown's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 3 Episode 3 "A Wanted (Inhu)man" hits the small screen on Oct. 13.
