Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka Trump are seen together at an event in Washington.

The daughter of Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump has been quick to dismiss recent criticism leveled at her father, especially those comments concerning women and their looks. Ivanka Trump said her father would be amazing for women in America.

The former model and the young heiress, who operates as the executive vice president at the Trump Organization, placed blame largely on the media for sensationalizing her father's comments, CNN reported. She defended her father's comments, telling the news channel during an interview that her father is not only "blunt" but  direct and is not "gender specific in his criticism of people."

During a Presidential debate, Donald berated Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly when she posed him a tough question. He also criticized GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina's looks in comments made in a Rolling Stone profile. However, Ivanka praised her father describing him as "unbelievable" and said he will be "incredible for women" in the United States.

The growing pressures of the presidential campaign were highlighted by Trump's daughter in an interview with Fortune, when she said, it has added a new dynamic to her life, including a new level of  scrutiny. Ivanka revealed that the campaigning and the remarks made at the ongoing presidential debates had not soured her friendship with Democratic presidential front-runner, Hillary Clinton's daughter, Chelsea Clinton.

"The politics of our parents is not relevant to our friendship," Ivanka said pointing out that despite the pressures of politics, the two still remain close friends.
