"The Expendables 4" could be underway as Sylvester Stallone has reportedly begun picking cast members. Some of the stars expected in the cast are former wrestlers Hulk Hogan and Dwayne Johnson, who are likely to play villains in the movie.
It was said that Hogan has had a discussion with Stallone about the movie and the likelihood of having him play a role in "Expendables" 4, Cinema Blend has learned. Likewise, Johnson has revealed his interest in the movie.
As a co-director of the film, Stallone may also be intending to expand the cast by featuring a Bollywood actor in "The Expendables 4." The particular star is Salman Khan, who Stallone has been indirectly persuading through the social media platform to join the "Expendables" cast, Franchise Herald reported.
The first two "Expendables" movies earned a big acceptance from the viewers. The first film made $274.5 million in the box office while the second grossed $311.9 million. On the other hand, the third film did not match the accomplishment of the past movies, grossing only $206.2 million, because of a leaked copy that circulated online three weeks prior to its release.
Released on Aug. 15, 2014, "The Expendables 3" starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Chuck Norris, Bruce Willis, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Kelsey Grammer, Glen Powell, Antonio Banderas, Victor Ortiz and Ronda Rousey, among others.
Meanwhile, Stallone has just completed the sport drama "Creed," which will hit theaters on Nov. 25. The Ryan Coogler film stars Stallone as Rocky Balboa opposite "Fantastic Four" star Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Johnson and "Selma" actress Tessa Thompson as Bianca.
