"The Winds of Winter" is the sixth novel in George R. R. Martin's epic fantasy series "A Song of Ice and Fire."

The much-anticipated "Winds of Winter" may be released before "Game of Thrones" season 6 premieres. The long awaited book by George R. R. Martin may finally get a release date early in 2016.

According to Polish website Piesnloduiogniatranslator Michal Jakuszewski is translating the book into Polish, which implies that the English manuscript is ready. This may come as a major relief for all the fans of the book series, "A Song of Fire and Ice".

The last book in this series, "A Dance of Dragons" was released back in 2011. With a four-year waiting time already on his shoulders, Martin said that he is doing his level best to put the book out there.

Rumors suggest that if the book gets all the translations done within this year, it will go to publishing houses in January and be on the stands in February or March 2016. This could also mean that the book will be released before the release of HBO's "Game of Thrones" season 6, which is scheduled to premiere on April 3, 2016, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Recently, Martin revealed that the book will be available only in the form of hard cover, at least in the United States. This also implies that the book might take time to trickle down to other countries.

In other "Game of Thrones" news, surprisingly enough many dead characters are being seen in Belfast, shooting for long scenes. Also, Shae was seen walking around the sets in the traditional King's Landing attire. This news sparked many questions as to how she is still alive, when she was brutally strangled in "Game of Thrones" Season 4. It could point towards the fact that she is now a White Walker.
