There is a lot of speculation about the director of the upcoming "Fast and Furious 8." The possible contenders are actor Vin Diesel and director Rob Cohen.
Diesel said in a Facebook post that, "There has always been the desire by Paul to have Rob direct one more, this is what fueled my campaign... I believe that he can and would reset the franchise nicely, returning to what was the core of the film in the beginning... racing. He would also handle the Brian O'connor issue with integrity, given that he and David Ayer were the ones who initially created that beloved character in the first place."
He also added that his mother believes that Diesel himself would be a good contender for the role of the director himself, according to The Guardian.
The casting for "Fast and Furious 8" is on the roll as the movie is already in the early stages of production. A lot of big celebrity names are being thrown for the cast of this movie.
In the storyline of "Fast and Furious 8", the whole family from this franchise will be back in their respective roles. This will include Jordana Brewster, Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodrigues, Dwayne Johnson, Chris Bridges, and also Jason Statham.
Rumors suggest that Eva Mendes will also join the cast of the upcoming movie as well. Rumors further suggest that Helen Mirren is also being approached to cast in the eighth part of "Fast and Furious." Another addition to this rumored cast is Angelina Jolie-Pitt. The presence of a popular actress like Jolie can change the entire game of the movie's plot.
