David Yates' forthcoming "Tarzan" film remake is set to be different from previous "Tarzan" films, according to "Spectre" actor Christopher Waltz.
Waltz is playing the role of Captain Rom in Yates' upcoming film. In his interview with Cinema Blend to promote Sam Mendes' forthcoming James Bond film "Spectre," Waltz said that Yates' "Tarzan" was just a different story, which was not modernized and reinterpreted. The actor said that while the film had modernized dramatic aspect, it was quite politicized, primarily because of its social and historical context.
Among the film's elements, Waltz pointed out the historical aspect of the film, which would remarkably separate the film from the other "Tarzan" films. Aside from this information, Waltz had also admitted that he had not seen the film yet.
According to Hey U Guys, the film would see Tarzan go back to the jungle several years following his stay in the city to live a modern life with Jane Porter. Aside from Waltz, the forthcoming film also stars Simon Russell Beale, Casper Crump, John Hurt, Djimon Hounsou, Ella Purnell, Samuel L. Jackson, Margot Robbie as Porter and Alexander Skarsgard as Tarzan.
Meanwhile, "Spectre" will center on the events following the incidents in Martin Campbell's "Casino Royale" and Mendes' "Skyfall." The film stars Seydoux as Madeleinde Swann, Dave Bautista as Mr. Hinx, Ralph Fiennes as Gareth Mallory, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, Monica Belluci as Lucia Sciarra, Waltz as Oberhauser, and Daniel Craig as Bond.
With Mendes is set to helm the film, Robert Wade, Neal Purvis, John Logan , and Ian Fleming are on board to pen the screenplay. Michael Wilson, Gregg Wilson, Wolfganf Ramml, Callum McDougall, Roberto Malerba, Barbara Broccoli, and Zkaria Alaoui are set to co-produce the film.
