"Fast and Furious" actor Vin Diesel has shared one of the largest transformations in the franchise.
Diesel plays Dominic "Dom" Toretto in the iconic action car racing franchise. In his interview with Jimmy Fallon in "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" to promote Breck Eisner's upcoming action fantasy adventure film "The Last Witch Hunter," Diesel said that the film storyline would have taken the cast to New York, in places that had never been featured by the film's predecessors.
The "Fast and Furious" actor also revealed in his interview that the upcoming "Furious 8" would be a part of a "grander trilogy," which he admitted that he was willing to do. This revelation has led people to assume that the aforementioned trilogy would be the culmination of the franchise, after James Wan's "Furious 7" had become the fifth highest-grossing film of all time.
Diesel had also confirmed in the interview that "Straight Outta Compton" filmmaker F. Gary Gray would be helming the film.
Along with "Fast and Furious 8," Diesel is also set to appear in James Gunn's superhero sci-fi "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2," D.J. Caruso's action thriller film "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage," Ang Lee's war drama "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk," and Marvel's "Inhumans."
Aside from Diesel, "Fast and Furious 8" also stars Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, with Cody Walker rumored to play the role of Jack O'Conner. The film also stars Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Bridges, among others. Meanwhile, Jordana Brewster might return to the forthcoming film. However, how the storyline would change after Paul Walker's death remains uncertain, as per Cinema Blend.
Directed by Gray, "Fast and Furious 8" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Apr. 14, 2017.
