Wolfsburg winger Julian Draxler runs past Manchester United's Daley Blind during their recent Champions League Match.

Contending squads VfL Wolfsburg (5-2-3, 18 points) and Bayer Leverkusen (5-3-2, 17 points) square off at the Volkswagen Arena on Saturday, October 31 for a 2015-2016 Bundesliga matchup.

Both teams are coming off close victories and they hope to gain another three points versus each other to further cement their place in the current league table.

Die Wölfe nipped Darmstadt 98, 1-0, at the Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor last Saturday to hold the fourth spot in the overall standings behind powerhouse teams Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Schalke.

Midfielder Daniel Caligiuri scored the lone goal of the match at the 78th minute from a perfectly-timed feed by striker Max Kruse to lift Dieter Hecking's men over their newly-promoted opponents, as per SkySports.

Meanwhile, Bayer survived a high-scoring affair against Stuttgart also last Saturday, 4-3, in a match held at the BayArena, via ESPN.

Roger Schmidt's boys scored four goals in the second half via strikes from Karim Bellarabi, Sebastian Boenisch, Javier Hernández, and Admir Mehmedi at the 57th, 70th, 71st, and 89th minutes en route to the dominating win.

The Wolves have their last two games after going on a three-game winless skid while Bayer is now on a five-game unbeaten run with three wins and two draws in their last five matches.

Hecking and company will look to extend their winning streak to three against the Leverkusen residents.

The predicted result is a close 2-1 victory for Wolfsburg.

Wolfsburg starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Benaglio; Trasch, Naldo, Dante, Rodriguez; Vieirinha, Guilavogui, Gustavo, Draxler; Dost, Kruse

Bayer Leverkusen starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Leno; Boenisch, Tah, Toprak, Wendell; Brandt, Calhanoglu, Kampl, Mehmedi; Kiessling, Hernandez
