A high stakes Serie A 2015-2016 season matchup between league leader Fiorentina (6-2-0, 18 points) and last season's runner-up Roma (5-1-2, 17 points) will take place at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Sunday, October 25.

The current top two teams in the league table will square off for temporary overall league leadership, but Viola is also risking a two-game slide if they lose to the Wolves in this game.

Fiorentina is coming off a disappointing 1-2 loss to fast-rising Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo last Sunday via goals from Gli Azzurri strikers Lorenzo Insigne and Gonzalo Higuaín in each of the game's halves, as per ESPN.

The Lilies' Croatian striker Nikola Kalinić managed to equalize the count at the 73rd minute, but Higuaín put Napoli on top again to stay two minutes later.

Roma trounced Empoli, 3-1, at their home turf of Stadio Olimpico last Saturday to complete a three-game winning run which they will look to extend versus Viola this Sunday.

Midfielder Miralem Pjanić, defensive midfielder Daniele De Rossi, and winger Mohamed Salah provided a goal each for the I Giallorossi en route to their convincing victory, via SkySports.

Fiorentina will try to recover from their first loss in the last six games to hold firm of the league leadership, but the momentum of La Maggica's current winning streak will lead them past I Gigliati to take over the top spot.

The prediction is a close 2-1 victory for Roma.
