‘Super Mario Maker’ Glitch Allows Yoshi To Shallow Impenetrable Concrete Block

A recently discovered Super Mario Maker glitch allows Yoshi to swallow concrete blocks.

Nearly two months after the "Super Mario Maker" video game level creator was released, minor glitches emerged, including the character Yoshi being able to swallow a concrete block.

Those who are well-acquainted with the "Super Mario" video game franchise will know that it is impossible for the character Yoshi to shallow a concrete block, according to Realty Today. Under normal circumstances, Yoshi's tongue will just pass through the block without apparent effect.

What makes this glitch interesting is the fact that on the video Yoshi swallowed one of the most impenetrable block in "Super Mario Maker." The only instance that a player can destroy such concrete block is through the help of a Spiny Shell Helmet. These instances are very rare though and is only possible if the level creator placed the right chain of items to trigger the event.

As with most video game glitches, the intriguing part is how to trigger it. Based on the video, the only way to trigger the glitch is to place some coins directly the block that the player intends to let Yoshi swallow. The glitch requires pinpoint timing as the players needs to accurately stick Yoshi's tongue at the right moment for it to swallow the block.

According to Design and Trend, it is possible to upload levels containing this glitch to Nintendo servers. This extremely hard to execute maneuver means that course creators can potentially create very difficult levels where the only way to complete the puzzle is to properly execute the glitch.

A video of the glitch was uploaded on YouTube and can be viewed below.
