Morena Baccarin is Vanessa Carlysle in Tim Miller's "Deadpool."

Morena Baccarin has said that her character would be crucial to the overall story of Tim Miller's forthcoming Marvel Comics film "Deadpool."

Baccarin is set to play Wade Wilson's love interest, Vanessa Carlyle, in Miller's "Deadpool." In her interview with JoBlo, Baccarin said that the film will see Wilson start to get sick and have cancer. She added that his relationship with Carlyle would become all about trying to save him; however, Wilson found a way to push her away.

Baccarin added that fans would see her character again at the very end, since Wilson as Deadpool had been basically just trying to find a way to be comfortable with his new crazy face and body and get her back. The actress said that the whole would cover a period of eight years, which indicates that Wilson's acceptance of his new identity as the Merc with the Mouth will not be taken lightly.

Although fans had seen Wilson and Carlyl's relationship in previous "Deadpool" trailers, they were not going to witness a handful of scenes featuring the couple's love story in the entirety of Miller's film, according to Cinema Blend.

Directed by Miller, "Deadpool" features Wilson's origin story, as a former member of the Special Forces who became a subject in an experiment to become a superhero. Ryan Reynolds will play Deadpool, also known as the Merc with the Mouth. Aside from Baccarin, the film also stars Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, Andre Tricoteux, Ed Skrein, and T.J. Miller, among others.

Miller's "Deadpool" is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on Feb. 12, 2016 while the release date for "Deadpool 2" is yet to be revealed.
