A cracked Apple iPhone screen is very hard and expensive to replace. Apple does offer the AppleCare Protection Plus warranty but it costs from $100 to $130, depending on the iPhone model, and an additional $79 is needed in order for the screen to be fixed. Having the phone repaired on some iPhone repair stalls found on some malls is inexpensive but it will void the device's warranty.
A new startup called SwiftFix offers quick repairs just like the ones offered in the malls, without voiding the warranties. Prices are reasonable and appointments are relatively easy to schedule. Folks at SwiftFix will come to the customers' location to fix the broken iPhone or iPad. The only problem is that the company only operates in San Francisco, New York City and Chicago.
To schedule an appointment, customers only need to set it up via the SwiftFix app which can be downloaded for free in the Apple App Store. The app will assess the damaged phone and will provide a quote for the repair. If the customer agrees with the quote, the appointment can be scheduled on the same the day.
According to BGR, during SwiftFix's soft launch in New York, the startup was able to perform more than $30,000 worth of repairs by the end of October. The company is not yet well established and as of this writing it only has 15 Customer Ratings in the App Store, all of the reviews gave the company 5 stars.
SwiftFix plans to expand to Miami, Philadelphia and Boston by the end of the year.
