Mera has the ability to manipulate water.

Zack Snyder's upcoming Comics film "Justice League" is set to feature another superhero in DC's Cinematic Universe.

According to Heroic Hollywood, Mera, the Queen of Atlantis, would be having her cinematic debut in Snyder's "Justice League."  The inclusion of the character in the film entails that wonder Woman will no longer be the sole female superhero seen in the forthcoming superhero film. However, this does not guarantee that Mera is set to be part of the titular superhero film.

Mera was described as the "Khaleesi of the sea" and Aquaman's true love, according to Heroic Hollywood. The comic book storyline reveals Mera and Aquaman as reprsentations of the disputing factions of the Atlanteans and their marriage is the seal of a unified Atlantis. Multiple incidents saw Mera and Aquaman have a bad marriage, since the former was manipulated mentally, however.

Other storylines saw Mera sent by her people to take down Aquaman; however, she fell in love with the King of Atlantis. She gave up her mission and went out to fight foes as well. Mera shares similar powers as her husband, such as breathing underwater and superstrength, along with her ability called aquakinesis, which is the power to control water with her mind.

"Justice League: Part One" is set to commence its pre-production in the middle of Jan. 2016, so casting should be ongoing soon. While the actress behind Mera was not mentioned, she was bound to have a decent amount of time in the big screen, as per Cinema Blend.

Meanwhile, Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is set to trace the path to the rise of the superhero team Justice League. The film stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Jesse Eisenberg, and Amy Adams, among others.

Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Mar. 25, 2016 while "Justice League" hit theaters on Nov. 17, 2017.
