Microsoft recently starts rolling out the New Xbox Experience to it subscribers. The update not only brings changes into the Xbox One's dashboard. It is also a major update that integrates the console into the Windows 10 family.

The most noticeable change in the update is the new user interface. Microsoft ditches the horizontal scrolling of the Windows 8 interface in order to make way for a more fitting design that compliments the Windows 10 theme.

According to AnandTech, the new dashboard is very similar to that of the Windows 10 Xbox app. The navigation panel is located on the left side of the screen and the vertical scrolling feature used to access pinned content was also carried over to the new design. However, some critics are not quite happy with the presence of the promotions panel located on the right side of the screen which accounts to around 20 percent of the screen real estate.

Despite its interesting upgrades, many critics are convinced that it will be a hard fought battle for the Xbox One to dominate the platform now the Valve's Steam Machine have come into the picture.

Launched on Nov. 10. along with the Steam Controller and Steam Link, The Steam Machine runs on Linux and has a massive video game title library backed by Valve, according to PC WorldThe Steam Machine costs $450 while the Xbox One sells for $350.

The console war is getting interesting by the day and many critics agree that total domination will come down to one vital feature, exclusive video game titles.
