A remastered HD version of “Valkyria Chronicles” video game is scheduled to be released for the PlayStation 4 console.

A remastered HD version of "Valkyria Chronicles" video game is scheduled to be released for the PlayStation 4 console. The "Valkyria Chronicles HD" will be released along with a new game in the franchise called "Valkyria: Azure Revolution." Both games are scheduled for a 2016 release.

According to PC Magazine, the "Valkyria Chronicles HD" is scheduled to be released on Feb. 10, 2016. The game will feature high-resolution graphics and trophy support as well as all the downloadable contents released for the original game.

"Valkyria Chronicles HD" will include a demo of the brand new game "Valkyria: Azure Revolution." The game's developer, Sega, is expecting to receive user feedback on how to further develop the game's mechanics.

"Valkyria: Azure Revolution" will reportedly retain its RPG genre. However, it will ditch the turn-based strategy mechanics and replace it with a real-time fighting system.

"Valkyria: Azure Revolution" director Takeshi Ozawa told Gematsu, "We wanted to do something new using Valkyria, and one of the things we're putting in is a real-time system. Initially, we were considering real-time strategy, but we went with an RPG because we think that's what more users will want to play."

Ozawa added that the new game will also incorporate simulation elements where players are given a base and from there they can prepare and plan their missions.

The game is currently scheduled for an exclusive release in Japan. Developers have yet to confirm whether or not the game will ship to other parts of the world.

The original "Valkyria Chronicles" game was released in 2008 for the PlayStation 3 console. The game was subsequently released for the PC platform in November 2014.
