Pornhub's Mia Khalifa has slammed Facebook for encouraging users to use a French flag filter on their profile photo to show their support for Paris.

According to the International Business Times, the Lebanese-born porn star took to Twitter to bash netizens who "Pray for Paris" by filtering their Facebook photo with the colors of the French flag.

"Because nothing says 'Prayers for Paris' quite like a narcissistic selfie with a flag over it," Khalifa tweeted.

Some netizens immediately came to Facebook's defense, saying that it was a small gesture to show Paris their support in these difficult times. They also criticized the pornstar for being insensitive.

"Nothing says contributor to society like someone judging others who get fucked on camera for a living," Bookauche wrote.

On the other hand, some echoed Khalifa's statement. They pointed out that some netizens would only use the filter to appear "cool" even without knowing the real issue.

"The fact that people think a flag filter is adequate support for france is sad. and there is no way they are actually 'praying,'" Devin wrote

According to Master Herald, Facebook has yet to react to Khalifa's statement. The outlet, however, pointed out that it was "highly unlikely" that Mark Zuckerberg would bother to issue a statement in response to a pornstar's opinion.

In wake of the bombing in Paris, Zuckerberg posted that they have activated Facebook's Safety Check. Some, however, were quick to question why they turned on the Safety Check for Paris but not in Beirut.

The founder explained that up until Nov. 13, they only activated Safety Check for natural disasters. Zuckerberg said that they will be changing this policy and activate it to include more "human disasters moving forward."
