Nearly a year after Chris Rock filed a divorce from his wife of 19 years, Malaak Compton Rock, the couple is still involved in a bitter battle over a mysterious child.
According to the documents filed in the court, Malaak has claimed that the actor should also support the 7-year-old Ntombi, who is living in their household under their care since she was just six-month-old.
In Malaak's claim filed this April, she stated that in addition to their two children, there is a third child who was born overseas and has resided with them since before her first birthday. The actor's estranged wife has claimed that she is currently in the process of adopting the child legally, though, the child was raised as their own for years and was "cherished and adored," Malaak told People in a statement.
However, how the young girl ended up with Rock family still remains a mystery. She is currently in the country on a visitor visa that required her to return to her home, Johannesburg, South Africa, every year for a renewal.
In the original divorce filing, the 50-year-old actor had stated that the couple has just two children Lola, 12, and Zahra, 10. The "Grown Ups" actor has not seen the third child since his break up despite reportedly taking out time to meet his biological daughters regularly.
Meanwhile, Ntombi's biological father, Crispen Khanyile, has spoken to TMZ to shed some light on the family's tragic situation, saying that both he and his now ex-girlfriend were unemployed and parenting two other kids when she was born.
However, Khanyile refused to divulge further details like how and why his infant daughter ended up living with the Rocks or whether any money was involved in the matter or not.
