Coldplay is expected to release their seventh album "A Head Full of Dreams" on Dec. 4, 2015.
Parlophone and Atlantic records are the record labels prospected to do the release."A Head Full of Dreams" is the second album by the British rock band in North America under Atlantic.
Coldplay admitted having begun working on their seventh album in the summer of 2014 while promoting their sixth album "ghost stories". The producer in charge of "A Head Full of Dreams" was Rik Simpson, who is the band's long-term collaborator and the Norwegian duo Stargate.
Various songs on the album are a result of some collaboration with Beyoncé, Noel, Gallagher, Tove Lo and Merry Clayton. Coldplay has also revealed that the album features a sample of the U.S President Barack Obama singing amazing grace during the Clementa C. Pinckney's funeral.
Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin revealed that his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow initially inspired the lyrics "how come things move on/ how come cars don't slow", NME reported. "She came up with the idea, so I said, 'is there any chance you'd sing that line because it's your idea?' Like any human, she was like, 'I can't do that! I'm not professional!'" the leader singer told 2magazine.
The album's cover is speculated to be an image of a geometric pattern known as the Flower of Life. This speculation is a result of some anonymous posters that got pinned on the London underground around Oct. 30, 2015, showing a geometric pattern alongside a note that read "December 4".
Also, the same design was noted by fans on a t-shirt won by Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin at the global citizen festival in New York on Nov.2, 2015. Coldplay posted the same piece of artwork as an animated GIF on their Twitter account, seemingly confirming the speculations.
With Chris Martin's hint at the album's style, fans eagerly wait to confirm his words that the band was trying to create something colourful and uplifting.
