"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 cast member Kunal Nayyar recently talked about his new book "Yes, My Accent Is Real."

In an interview with Miami Herald, the Indian actor said that he didn't necessarily write his book for the money.

After all, the publication revealed that he earns approximately $800,000 per episode of the hit CBS show.

"It was torture doing a book about my life. It wasn't cathartic at all. I almost quit three times," he said.

Nayyar also revealed that he decided to release his own book because his fans have been requesting for it for quite some time already.

"Forget sales, forget best-seller lists - though don't tell my publisher that. When I get messages from people saying, 'I loved your book, you inspired me to quit what I was doing or something that my parents wanted for me and live out my dreams,' that's a nice feeling," he said.

Meanwhile, the actor also talked about his character Raj on "The Big Bang Theory."

According to him, he has a couple of similarities with his TV character. One of which is the fact that both of them have a certain kind of innocence.

"Like Raj, I can get into trouble sometimes because I look at the world through very innocent eyes. Not that I'm naïve. I do really feel that those I meet or interact with, they don't want to manipulate me, yet I often get into a situation where I say 'yes' to anything and can't get out of it," he said.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 9 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
