"The Walking Dead" Starring Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus Airs Sundays on AMC

"The Walking Dead" season 6 star Andrew Lincoln recently weighed in on Jeffrey Dean Morgan's casting as the villainous character Negan.

In an interview with The Wrap, the actor who plays the role of Rick Grimes, said that he doesn't have any problems with Morgan joining the cast of the hit AMC series.

In fact, the actor said that he is happy that another great actor will be joining their group.

"I've met Morgan and he's a very nice guy and a terrific actor. I know he's going to be an incredible asset to the show," he said.

Meanwhile, Lincoln revealed that Morgan is extremely excited to be part of the series because he also watches it at home.

"He's also extremely excited. He told me he's been a fan of the show for years and he can't wait to sink his teeth into the role," he said.

In other news, Morgan recently attended a Q&A session where he talked about his role on "The Walking Dead" season 6.

According to him, one of the reasons why he is excited to play Negan is because he hasn't really played a villain as much as he played the roles of good guys before.

"I think the challenge for me in this role is going to be: is there any heart in Negan? And for me, I look at that as a challenge as an actor and that's the kind of thing I embrace and really look forward to," he said.

"The Walking Dead" season 6 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
