The owners of Motorola Moto X Pure Edition in the United States will reportedly receive the Android Marshmallow update really soon as the soak testing for the upgrade is already underway.
According to Android Geeks, David Schuster, senior director of software production for Motorola, revealed that the company is in the process of soak testing the Android Marshmallow update for Motorola Moto X Pure Edition.
Schuster further mentioned that Motorola will be closely monitoring the soak for next few weeks. If and when the results seem to be favorable, they will be proceeding with the full launch as an OTA update in the US only, for the time being.
It is safe to assume that the device owners in the United States will start to receive this upgrade before the end of this year.
In addition, Moto X Style is already receiving the Android Marshmallow. The update started to roll out for Moto X Style since last month in India and a few other countries.
Since the two devices are almost exactly the same, the users can expect the 2015 Moto X Pure Edition Android Marshmallow update to bring the same changes brought in the Moto X Style.
The changes include new doze smart feature which helps to preserve the battery of the smartphone, according to BGR. It also supports the App StandBy which allows the rarely used apps to get reduced in their activity state, a greater control on the app permissions, the ability to use the external SD card storage as an internal storage.
