HTC One A9 is expected to get the Android Marshmallow upgrade pretty soon. The firm ware update will bring with it a lot of changes in the material design of the HTC handset. HTC US President Jason Mckenzie revealed that only the unlocked HTC One A9 devices are eligible for this update.
The other models are also in the pipeline and will eventually receive the upgrade in the form of OTA. The units which were purchased outside of the United States will need to wait much longer to be upgraded to Android Marshmallow.
Mckenzie revealed that users can expect a lot of security fixes and patch updates after the update. HTC is already in the process of starting its own version of monthly security updates, something similar to Nexus monthly updates. This was started from Nov. 10, 2015.
The HTC One A9 users can expect the first batch of the roll out for Android Marshmallow to start in the coming days, according to Android Headlines. The users will receive a notification of the Over The Air update. They can also check it manually via Settings -> About Phone -> Version -> Check for Updates.
The update will bring enhancements on the over all user interface and user experience. There will also be added security measures and also bug fixes which will guarantee smooth operation of the device.
It will also bring the support for 4G LTE data connection services, USB Type Ca connection port, Bluetooth 4.2, enhanced Wi-Fi connection, and finger print scanner, according to GSM Arena. The users must charge their device to at least 50 percent to install this update correctly.
