Android Marshmallow is starting to seep down into many mid-ranged devices lately. The latest in the list is the Motorola Moto X Pure Edition.
It is not exactly clear as to when the rollout of the update will begin, but the device will get it pretty soon for sure. It is rumored that Moto X Pure Edition may get the Android Marshmallow update within this month, according to Tech Times.
On the other hand, there are also rumors that the update could be delayed. As counting the number of devices which are already in the pipeline of receiving this update, Moto X Pure Edition users might need to wait till early next year to get their hands on the latest version of the Android operating system.
There is also a possibility that the custom ROM community releases a specialized solution for Moto X Pure Edition before the end of this year. In this case, the users will need to flash their ROM's and install the update manually and at their own risk. This will not be an OTA update.
In other Motorola news, the Moto G 2014 edition is expected to get the Android Marshmallow update within this year. It is expected that roll out for the update is already started for some of the models. Since it is an over the air update, it will take time to reach different models.
The update will bring a lot of major changes in the devices, according to BGR. There will be enhancements in the battery consumption, reduction in the touch lag, in addition to the fix for device overheating. There is also the inclusion of finger print scanner support, USB Type C connection port support, Bluetooth 4.2 support, and 4G LTE data connection support.
