PS VR To Have ‘Ace Combat 7’; New Sequel Utilizes Unreal Engine 4

Ace Combat 7 is a flight simulation action video game.

The "Ace Combat 7" sequel that was developed using Unreal Engine 4 was announced for the PS VR at PlayStation Experience 2015, which took place from Dec. 5, Saturday, to Dec. 6, Sunday.

Unreal Engine has previously been used by other flight-based titles, but the fact that the sequel from the "Ace Combat" series was made with the product of Epic Games means that the company Bandai Namco is willing to take risks for such a popular game series.

While other games might have the virtual reality support just for the sake of being updated with the recent developments in technology, the inclusion of "Ace Combat 7" to the PS VR make sense because the flight-sim action game franchise has always tried to be as realistic as possible with the simulations, according to Forbes.

The combination of Unreal Engine 4 together with the PS VR support could mean that players will finally have an incredibly immersive flight experience to the extent that gamers would feel that they are actually inside a jet fighter plane.

Moreover, "Ace Combat 7" aims to bring back positive reviews for the franchise by possibly having new expansions or substantial additional content provided for the gamers once the Bandai Namco game is released.

"Ace Combat Infinity" was the last game released by the gaming company that was tied to the franchise. However, the free-to-play aspect of the PS3 title was not enough for gamers to criticize the monetizing strategies utilized by Bandai Namco. Thus, some people described "Ace Combat Infinity" as just another freemium game title.

So far, no release date has been announced for "Ace Combat 7."

In other news, Bandai Namco has also revealed at PlayStation Experience 2015 that "Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom" will be available for the PS4, according to Comic Book.

The sequel to the critically acclaimed "Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch" is set to have an all-new story, which means that players will see new characters included in the franchise.

Just like "Ace Combat 7," "Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom" currently also does not have a release date.
