Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update For Samsung Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge+, S6, Note 4, Note Edge Moved To Q1 2016

Android 6.0 "Marshmallow" is a version of the Android mobile operating system.

Fresh details on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Samsung Galaxy flagship smartphones have surfaced.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was previously rumored to receive the Android 6.0 upgrade in this month. The other Samsung flagships like Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 were slated to get the upgrade in January 2016. Fresh information suggests that the update for most Samsung flagships have been moved to first quarter of 2016, Phone Arena reported citing a Vietnamese source.

The Samsung Galaxy Note series handsets like Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 4 Duos and Galaxy Note Edge are now rumored to receive the latest Android build in Q1 2016. The Galaxy series handsets like Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Duos, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S5 LTE-A and Galaxy S5 Neo are also slated to receive Android 6.0 in Q1 2016.

In the second quarter of 2016, the Galaxy Alpha handset will be receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The Android M update will come to tablets like Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 and Tab S2 8.0 in Q2 2016.

The report has stated that these are only estimated timeframe for the Android 6.0 roll out for Samsung devices. Hence, the Android M release schedule is likely to change in the near future.

The release of the Android 6.0.1 update for Galaxy S6 is currently under the testing phase, G for Games reported. At the present, the testing is being carried out for the SM-G920F, the international edition of Galaxy S6. The first region where Galaxy S6 owners are likely to receive the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update is Poland.
