"The Winds of Winter" is the sixth novel in George R. R. Martin's epic fantasy series "A Song of Ice and Fire."

There are rumors that a publication house official has confirmed that the much-awaited book "Winds of Winter" is finally ready. Speculations also suggest that "Winds of Winter" release may be in Feb. 2016.

"Game of Thrones" Season 6 is currently being shot in Belfast and a production crew member was spotted with the "Winds of Winter" manuscript. This led to speculations that the book release may be imminent and not delayed, as previously thought.

According to Wars and Politics of Ice and Fire, it is rumored that with an accelerated publishing schedule the much delayed book could be out by Feb. 23, 2016.

Meanwhile, Geroge R. R. Martin has always maintained that he is committed to finishing the book on time and in this regard he has also canceled numerous public appearances. In an interview to Entertainment Weekly, he said that he wished that the book release happens before "Game of Thrones" Season 6 premiere.

Martin said this fact has been important to him all along. He said, "I wish it was out now. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic about how quickly I can finis but I canceled two convention appearances, I'm turning down a lot more interviews-anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done."

Martin also said that fans can expect numerous surprises and twists in the upcoming book. Fans think that this could point to Jon Snow's revival in the much-anticipated book. Snow was brutually stabbed and left for dead in the "Game of Thrones" Season 5 finale.
