There are rumors that "Games of Thrones" author George R. R. Martin may complete the much-anticipated book "Winds of Winter" by Feb. 23, 2016.
BryndenBFish, expresses his views on the delayed release of "Winds of Winter" in Wars and Politics of Ice and Fire, and he says that it typically takes between four to eight months for the manuscript to reach the book shelves. This time is used for various processes such as post-editing, printing and publishing.
He does add that it is quite feasible for Martin to wrap up "Winds of Winter" by Feb. 23, 2016 with an accelerated publishing schedule. Even if the book manages to keep to the strict deadline of Feb. 23, 2016 it is quite a remote possibility of it being released before the television adaptation premieres.
The book has been delayed for almost five years now and fans were earlier hoping against hope that it would be released before the television premiere of "Game of Thrones" Season 6.
Martin even canceled numerous public appearances and even desisted for writing for an episode for "Game of Thrones" Season 5 in order to focus solely on the book. However, the book is far from complete and rumors abound that it is unlikely to be released before the premiere of "Game of Thrones" Season 6.
In order to accord Martin a bit more time for the book, HBO also postponed the airdate of the popular television series by a few weeks, according to News. However, the latest rumors say that the book "Winds of Winter" release may happen in spring, well after the release of "Game of Thrones" Season 6.
