"Dance Moms" star Maddie Ziegler is reportedly leaving the show for good after season 6. Insiders confirmed that Abby Lee Miller's favorite student and one of the original cast members of the show has decided to move on and pursue acting.
According to Us Weekly, the 13-year-old has "simply outgrown" her role in the show. It was said that she has always wanted to try other things such as acting. The publication pointed out that her desire to act has been fueled by her frequent collaboration with "Alive" singer Sia.
"Acting is something she's really excited to pursue and [Maddie] is in high demand," the source added.
Ziegler is currently busy filming Colin Trevorrow's "The Book of Henry." She also landed the lead role in "Sister," a film written and directed by Sia.
In other news, the latest trailer for "Dance Moms" season 6 revealed a distraught Miller following the legal charges filed against her. Back in October, the ALDC coach has been charged with over 20 counts of fraud, false bankruptcy declarations, and concealment of bankruptcy assets.
According to Christian Post, some of the students have already started worrying about what will happen to ALDC once Miller is gone. Some have expressed interest in transferring to another dance studio, including Nia Soux's mom, Holly.
"Debbie Allen wanted to work with our girls. So if Abby's not prepared, there's a studio that wants us," she said the other moms, as seen in the promo video.
"Dance Moms" season 6 premieres Jan. 5, 2016. Watch the trailer below:
