Maddie Ziegler's fans were definitely disappointed when they found out that Sia has chosen another dancer to star in her new music video, "Alive." After appearing in three music videos "Chandelier," "Elastic Heart" and "Big Girls Cry" the "Dance Moms" star has been replaced by 9-year-old dancer Mahiro Takano.
According to Huffington Post, after seeing Takano's videos on YouTube, Sia got in touch with her and asked her to be part of her latest project. The outlet reported that one of Takano's video, in which she was seen practicing Kankudai, became viral in 204 and raked in more than 5 million views.
The publication speculated that Takano will be a much bigger hit now that she is featured in Sia's video. It was said that collaborating with Sia definitely did wonders for Ziegler's career. Her first video, "Chandelier" reportedly had more than 968 million views and counting.
Comparison between Takano and Ziegler, however, has become inevitable. In the post, some netizens pointed out that they liked the latter's performance better, saying that she was able to dance from the heart. Others meanwhile pointed out that Takano's dance was boring, adding that Ziegler's was definitely more complicated.
Ziegler may not be a part of "Alive" but Sia has not forgotten about her. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the singer shared that she has already written a script for her upcoming movie, "Sister" which was based on a one-page story she wrote a couple of years back. Ziegler will be part of the film.
