OnePlus 3 Release Rumors: Fingerprint Scanner Unlikely; Retina Scanner Present?

| Dec 23, 2015 01:00 AM EST

OnePlus is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer founded in December 2013. It is headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China.

OnePlus is said to have been busy with its next flagship phone, the OnePlus 3. Several photos leaked online and showed that the phone looks simple yet elegant looking.

The OnePlus 3 rumored smartphone will be having some good specs. It will have the same screen size with its predecessor, which is a 5.5-inch with a 1080p resolution. However, there is another rumor that it may incorporate a 1440p display screen, but nothing is clear yet.

The flagship phone will also be featuring a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit processor with an Adreno 530 GPU, PC Advisor reported. The processor is said to be offering better performance and better battery efficiency than its older brother. The new processor has also eliminated the overheating issue that the previous one had problematically encountered.

OnePlus 3 will also be featuring the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 that can charge the 3,300 mAh battery in less than an hour. It will be wireless charging capable. The next phone is also expected to have a fingerprint scanner, since it is now normal for flagship phones to have one.  However, the leaked photos proved otherwise, though there is a possibility that a retina scanner may well be in it, Mobile Dad reported.

OnePlus is currently saying nothing with regards to the leaked photos and the rumored specs. Fans are also speculating that since OnePlus 2 was released in August, the next one will be released in the same month 2016.

OnePlus 3 is expected to be priced at $329 and sounds reasonable with all the goodies it is rumored to have.
