Twitter first announced in November, along with the announcement of Instant Timeline change during the Analyst's Day Conference, that they are in a testing phase of a new feature called "while you were away." Now, as NDTV Gadgets reported, Twitter officially revealed through their blogpost that the feature, called "Recap" where users will see a heading of "while you were away," is now available for iOS users though there were already some reports earlier this month that the feature had started rolling out.
Since "Recap" will show all the best tweets since the last login of the user, it is said that this new improvement will give a better Twitter experience to them as they would be able to catch up on the things that they may have missed though this is not the case for Tech Crunch. It is said that the new feature is a disturbance and is more likely to force people on re-capturing old tweets that they least care about. It is said that Recap is comparable to Facebook's News Feed as it ranks all status updates by importance
Twitter Product Manager Paul Rosania said that the recap feature will appear often if in case that the user is just taking a glance on their Twitter account every now and then. On the other hand, users will see the recap feature less if they spend more time on their Twitter accounts.
Recap will soon be available for Android user and web users.
Meanwhile, another notable thing that Twitter announced is the web version of the Digits app for developers - Digits SDK for Web - which is already available for iOS and android users
