Michael Weatherly's much-loved character Anthony DiNozzo will not return for "NCIS" Season 14. The CBS's long-running series will bid goodbye to one of its original characters towards the end of Season 13. However, rumours are that the show will cast two new agents who will take the place of DiNozzo in the fourteenth instalment of the series after the actor's exit. Read on for the detailed scoop.
Based on TV Line's recent report, Buddy TV is speculating that these two female characters will fill in DiNozzo's spot in Naval Criminal Investigative Service. These two new characters will join the cast of "NCIS" as series regular. While the show makers are still in the process of casting characters in the roles, details about one character named Tess are already out.
The big news about the two new series regulars was revealed by TV Line's Ask Ausiello even before Weatherly's exit. It was revealed that the show will introduce one male and one female character for "NCIS" Season 14.
In their latest report, the abovementioned publication revealed that these new characters will be introduced before "NCIS" Season 13 finale. About Tess, the network is looking for a "name" actress to portray the role of FBI Special Agent in her late 30s.
Tess has been described as "quick-witted, sarcastic, shrewd" and "two parts bulldog, one part sweet kitten." The FBI Special Agent is as comfortable working at black-tie fundraiser filled with a group of politicians as she is with truck drivers at a roadside diner. Prior to NCIS, she was working with New York City's Counter-Terrorism Unit and she has now been transferred to D.C.
Tess is single after being divorced three times. She is very supportive of her co-workers and often acts as mamma bear to her colleagues when they need a shoulder to lean on. She enjoys a good martini and a bacon cheeseburger but, wonders why sleep and sex are overrated. Despite her soft side, she can be really harsh when she is angry.
"NCIS" Season 13 is set to see a major shakeup in the wake of Weatherly's departure from the series after 13 years. Meanwhile, details about Weatherly's exit storyline are also being kept under the wraps.
