There are speculations that Sony Xperia Z6 release may happen on Feb. 22 at the Mobile World Congress Tradeshow. The device is expected to challenge Apple iPhone 7, as it is also packed with some great features.
On the other hand, regarding the release date, there are also suggestions that Sony may instead unveil the flagship smartphone at the IFA in September, according to PC Advisor.
These rumors stem from the fact that the its predecessor - the Sony Xperia Z5 - was launched at the IFA 2015. In addition, the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact and the Sony Xperia Premium were also announced at IFA 2015.
Regarding the Sony Xperia Z6 specs, the device is expected to be a game-changer compared to its precedessors. It is supposed to change the blocky look and come in a metallic finish with a curvier shape, according to Android Authority.
Sony is taking this extreme re-design step and changing the look and feel of the flagship device in order to compete with the upcoming curvier Apple iPhone 7. The flagship devices of Apple and Sony are expected to be locked down in a head-to-head battle, upon their release to gain control of the smartphone market.
According to the latest reports, it is also speculated that Sony Xperia Z6 will come in trendy colors and with a very slim frame. Sony Xperia Z6 may also feature a full HD screen display and a screen size of 5.2-inches.
Other specs indicate that it may come with the pressure sensitive screen technology and a fast charging USB Type C port. It may also house a powerful Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 processor to take on the challengers in the smartphone domain.
It is further rumored that the smartphone will be armed with boosted download speeds, along with a three-dimensional audio support. It may also be equipped with biometric sensor, which will be present in the power button of the device.
Regarding the operating system, it is expected to run on the latest Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
