Academy Award 2016 nominees will walk away with a lavish loot bag comprising giveaways and items reportedly worth more than $200,000. While the token bag is said to be the most expensive to date, female nominees will receive a free breast lift and a sex toy.
The luxury bag or basket is put together by a company in Los Angeles called Distinctive Assets, The Guardian reported. The firm uses the star power of Oscar nominees to propel brands.
This year's value of the items in the bag have hit a record as the most expensive with last year's bag featuring items worth $100,000. The most expensive giveaway in this year's bag include a-10 day first class trip to Israel worth more than $50,000.
In addition, a Japanese walking tour costing $40,000 and a year's worth of unlimited car rentals from Audi are reported to be included. The more bizarre items include a sex toy for female nominees, worth $250 and a vampire breast lift.
The breast lift on offer involves a procedure which uses an individual's own blood to give cleavage without implants, the British publication reported. Furthermore, it is reported that the cosmetic procedure is said to be the latest fad in L.A.
While the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is the deciding factor behind what goes into the goodie bags, no official comment has been made on items to be included.
"One photo of a celebrity wearing your product can ignite sales," Samantha Milo Haft, owner of a firm that puts together gift bags, told ABC News.
The channel quoting an inside source said at times the gift bag or basket is so large that celebrities have requested that it be delivered to their residences.
Marketing companies are reportedly using the Oscars as an opportunity to go a step further to entice nominees with unofficial giveaways. Firms like Estee Lauder are said to offer free days at the spa to stars, ahead of the big awards night.
