Sophie Turner, 18, will be included in the cast of characters of the upcoming movie "X-Men: Apocalypse" as Jean Grey, Bryan Singer revealed through his personal Twitter account.
Jean Grey, the powerful, telekinetic red-head has been previously portrayed onscreen by Famke Janssen in the movie "X-Men: Days of Future Past", "The Wolverine", "X-Men: The Last Stand", "X2: X-Men United", and "X-Men".
The "X-Men" veterans Micheal Fassebender, James McAvoy, and Jennifer Lawrence will all return for this upcoming installment.
For Turner, this film, which will hit theaters in 2016, will be her most extravagant studio production yet, but the experience that the massive and spectacular "Game of Thrones" brought her is what made her transition to a moving picture world a breeze.
Turner, also, revealed that she is following the path of Peter Dinklage, her "Games of Thrones" co-star's footsteps, who has starred in the "X-Men: Days of Future Past," also.
Cyclops, the "Games of Thrones" star's love interest in this upcoming movie, is to be portrayed by Tye Sheridan.
Tye and Sophie are both playing the youthful versions of the characters that James and Janssen portrayed; however, theirs will be at a younger decade since "X-Men: Apocalypse" is set in the 80s. This will give the characters the opportunity to intersect with the characters' younger versions like Magneto and Professor X.
Oscar Isaac, the new villain "Apocalypse", is in for a big year with "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" and "Ex Machina".
"X-Men: Apocalypse" is said to hit theaters on May 27, 2016.
