"Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey and wife of more than a decade Jillian Fink are getting a divorce.
"It is mutual respect and careful consideration that we arrived at the decision of ending of our marriage," the couple revealed to People. They added, ""Our main concern is still the well-being of all our children and we are asking with gratitude that all of you respect the privacy of our family during this sensitive time."
The 49 year-old actor and Fink are the proud parents of Tallulah, 12 years old; and twins Darby Galen and Sullivan Patrick, 7 years old.
"McDreamy" is said to be in Daytona Beach in Florida to attend a racing event when his wife filed the divorce citing irreconcilable differences as the reason.
Fink is seeking for joint custody of all three children, along with child a spousal support, according to TMZ.
Fink, makeup artist and hair stylist, and Dempsey got married in 1999, without filing for a pre-nuptial agreement. They met a couple of years earlier at Fink's salon.
This will be the actor's second divorce; the first was with his marriage with actress Rochelle Parker, which lasted 7 years.
Dempsey is amongst the highest-paid TV actors with an estimated worth of $40 million. Several reports revealed that the actor made $16 million in 2014 alone from endorsement deals and "Grey's Anatomy" stint.
Since 2005, Dempsey has portrayed Derek Shepherd on the TV show "Grey's Anatomy". However, Shonda Rhimes, the show creator, said that fans will not be seeing the character for a while.
