New details for "Ant-Man 2" will feature Janet Van Dyne's inclusion, Giant-Man transformation in "Captain America: Civil War" and a solo movie for the Wasp.
"Anchorman" and "Step Brothers" director Adam McKay confirmed his return to Marvel's "Ant-Man 2" during Santa Barbara Film Festival as he told Nerdist that he and Marvel have beenin talks regarding the sequel and he is onboard in writing the script of the movie.
Dubbed "Ant-Man and the Wasp", McKay along with "Ant-Man" star Paul Rudd will be helping each other writing the script as previous reports speculated that the sequel will have a different genre unlike the the first film. Peyton Reed will be directing "Ant-Man 2" and wants to have a different approach since then first was a bank heist styled film and wanted to surprise Marvel fans.
One rumored speculation for "Ant-Man 2" will feature Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne/Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) trying to help Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) bring back the original Wasp, Janet Van Dyne back from the Quantum Realm, The Bit Bag reported. Janet was trapped in the Quantum Realm after stopping a Soviet missile before the events of the film which devastated Hank, but with Scott managing to survive his trip in the realm out of instinct, Hank might have a the means and determination to get her back.
McKay added that the success of the sequel could determine a possibility of a solo "Wasp" film for phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Reed promised a much "weirder" aspect for "Ant-Man 2" as fans are looking forward to more details soon.
In other news, it looks like Scott Lang will be introducing another power in "Captain America: Civil War" as upcoming LEGO playset features a large size figure that looks like Ant-Man battling Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and his team of Avengers in the airport.
This could indicate that Scott must have upgraded the Pym particles and can grow his body and become MCU's version of Giant-Man. Ant-Man is part of Captain America's (Chris Evans) team alongside Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp).
"Ant-Man 2" will launch in cinemas sometime in 2018.
