"The Hangover" star Zach Galifianakis surprised people with his slimmed down figure and man bun, The Business Standard reported.
The actor attended the SAG Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday and skipped the red carpet. Galifianakis went home with the rest of the "Birdman" cast members with the Best Ensemble Cast award.
The actor delivered a very short speech that he copied from Best Actress winner for "Still Alice," Julianne Moore. Moore opened her acceptance speech by remembering her appearance in soap operas and said "when I was on 'As the world Turns,' I was so excited..."
When it was Galifianakis turn to say something after the cast accepted their award, he also said "when I was on 'As the world turns'" and gave the microphone to Amy Ryan who just said a simple thank you.
In an interview with WGN, the actor talked about his weight loss and said that he started it with walking. He added that he gave up alcohol but he misses it. Galifianakis revealed that being slim is "fun" since he can climb the stairs easily and he only needs his inhaler two times a day, according to Daily Mail.
The actor's previous diet contained "vodka and sausage." Although he did not spill out how much weight he lost, health analysts estimated that it must be from 50 to 60 pounds.
Fans can now recognize the real Galifianakis from his look alike who earned money by imitating the actor during his "Hangover" days. Thaddeus Kalinoski makes a living by his impersonation of the comedian. He dressed up like Galafianakis in his character Alan Garner on the film "Hangover" by going out topless with a baby doll attached to a carrier.
Kalinoski said that he took photos with hundreds of fans and invited four ladies into his hotel room. His impersonation has given him the privilege to sit on the VIP table and to get free drinks all the time.
Meanwhile, the real Zach Galafianakis will soon star in another action-comedy film entitled "Masterminds."
