Rumors have emerged that former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is linked to a Chinese Super League move in the summer as he is having playing time issues with his current squad, Bundesliga's VfL Wolfsburg.
The Mirror indicated that the 28-year-old forward is "ready to join the Chinese football revolution" this summer after being "omitted from Wolfsburg's squad for their Champions League win over Gent on Wednesday night".
Speculations abound that Bendtner has been pondering about the big-money offer from a still unnamed CSL club, which will allegedly increase his £35,000 weekly compensation with the Wolves three times over at £105,000 per week after tax in China.
The report also said that English Premier League side Crystal had also "expressed an interest" to bring back Bendtner in the English top flight, but it was not mentioned how much the Eagles are willing to pay Wolfsburg to pull off the transfer move.
Meanwhile, the Independent noted that if the 6-foot-4 Copenhagen, Denmark native "joins China, he will be the latest to leave Europe for the emerging powerhouse" football league.
The CSL has made huge strides in terms of luring the world's top football talents as its teams have invested a considerable amount of cash during this year's winter transfer season to sign primed European and South American footballers, such as Ramires, Jackson Martinez, Alex Teixeira, and Ezequiel Lavezzi.
Recently, Shanghai Shenhua snagged Obafemi Martins from MLS squad Seattle Sounders for an undisclosed amount.
Bendtner was signed by Wolfsburg to a three-year deal in August 2014 as Die Wölfe managing director Klaus Allofs called him "a striker at the best age, who already was able to gather a lot of international experience in his career, which did not always run in a straight line".
He is currently in his second season with last season's Bundesliga runners-up, appearing in a total of 44 games in all competitions so far and scoring nine times in limited minutes.
Bendtner began his senior career with Premier League giants Arsenal during the 2005-2006 season, where he played his most productive games from 2008-2009 to 2010-2011. He stayed with the Gunners for seven season, playing in 171 matches and scoring 47 goals in the said time span.
