The latest episode of "Power Rangers Dino Super Charge" is set to debut the newest ranger to the team, the Aqua Ranger. The episode titled "Roar of the Red Ranger" is set to air on Nickelodeon Feb. 27 at 12 p.m.
While this is officially the third time the "Power Rangers" series has used a dinosaur-inspired theme, it does mark the first time the long running television show uses aqua as a color for a ranger, Den of Geek reported. "Super Dino Charge" will also include the largest team of rangers found in the entire series at ten, Comic Book reported.
In the episode itself, the red ranger, Tyler, is attempting to master the T-Rex Super Charge Mode, but the villain Heckyl has implanted a virus in Kendall's computer, which causes Tyler to become feral. It is only after the appearance of the aqua ranger the disaster avoided.
The episode will also delve into how much damage Heckyl actually did when he raided the rangers' base. But also leaves the question on what else has the villain tampered with.
The character who will be the aqua ranger will be piloting the Ankylo zord, and has the aqua energem. However, it has yet to be revealed who exactly the aqua ranger is in the story. While many rumors have the aqua ranger being the long lost father of Tyler, the story might reserve him for the silver/talon ranger.
So far, both seasons of "Power Rangers Dino Charge" have been praised by fans and critics by not necessarily sticking to the story of its Japanese counterpart. While the action scenes where the rangers actually fight are mostly taken from the Super Sentai show "Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger," the show's storyline has taken its own course so far over two seasons.
This can be seen on how long the show's producers took to introduce the Akylo zord. In the Japanese version, the Aqua/Cyan ranger was the first of the new rangers to appear, while in the American version, he is the third behind the Purple and Graphite rangers.
